Our company was established in 2022 while working on a feature film, Second Chances, and a music video, The Bells. The founders, Rick Ochoa and Ahren Diers, looked to bringing visuals to those in need.
Growing up in a household of entertainers, there is no surprise that Rick Ochoa’s career path would follow in that direction. In the midst of following his passions, from being in front of and behind the camera to writing and recording music, Rick found another interest while attending California State University Los Angeles in the world of animation. While Rick was studying animation, his youngest brother became the lead voice actor for Disney Pixar’s “The Good Dinosaur”. This inspired Rick to follow his dream of 3D animation and created a deeper connection with different animated works.
Because of Rick’s love for entertainment, he has continued to balance all of these different career paths and has even found ways to make them work together. Rick has always wanted to be able to own his own company, and after working with a studio and several other projects, he not only met a lifelong friend but a new business partner, Ahren Diers.
Co-owner of Maze Road, Ahren has come a long way with his video production and art background since the early 2000’s. From operating behind different high-end cameras to being in front of computers editing, animating, or creating graphics and visual effects, the timeline of experience and involvement with these areas of specialization has been well beyond significant.
Over the recent years he has worked and collaborated with Rick Ochoa, and realized his work relation and friendship would soon grow into becoming business allies, resulting in the creation of Maze Road. Ahren is obsessed with staying tuned in to current trends with art, tech, and media. Furthermore, if he’s not clicking away on his mouse and keyboard he enjoys escaping out into nature whether it’s traveling or hiking along the hills near his neighborhood in northeast Los Angeles.
